You will primarily be providing clinical pharmacy services across our four Mental Health wards, supported by our experienced Senior Mental Health Pharmacist. In addition to this, you will receive cross-training in General Medical and Surgical wards, enabling you to support other clinical departments as needed. This role offers an exciting opportunity to enhance patient care within a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment while developing your expertise in a specialised area of pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities Organise, co-ordinate, control and supervise the efficient operation of the Mental Health pharmacy service.Ensure Mental Health pharmacy services adhere to Quality use of Medicines principles, including accuracy of dispensing, provision of drug information and both written and verbal consumer medicines information, and review of medication charts.Liaise with patients and various allied health professionals and medical staff.Develop and maintain a Quality Improvement Program for the Mental Health pharmacy service.Contribute to training and educational sessions for pharmacy, nursing, medical staff and allied health professionals.Contribute to our 7-day roster, including flexible hours, on-call service and reduced weekend and public holiday services.About You
You are a dedicated Hospital Pharmacist with a passion for delivering exceptional care to patients with mental health conditions. Your communication and interpersonal skills enable you to build strong relationships with patients and healthcare professionals, and you thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
To be considered for the role, you will need:
Current AHPRA general registration as a pharmacist, with no restrictions on practice.Over 3 years of experience working in an Australian Clinical Pharmacy setting.Personal Indemnity insurance.Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated proficiency in clinical drug knowledge, ensuring safe and efficient patient care delivery.Proven capability to work collaboratively within a team, while also being able to function independently with minimal supervision to accomplish team objectives.Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and ongoing education in the field of pharmacy.Prior experience in Mental Health is highly desirable; comprehensive training and support will be provided to further your knowledge.About Us
Opened in 2018, the 488-bed Northern Beaches Hospital delivers high-quality care to both public and private patients. The hospital offers extensive inpatient and outpatient services, including dialysis and cancer care. It features a 50-bed Emergency Department, a 20-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 14 state-of-the-art operating theatres, two cardiac catheter labs, and four procedural rooms. The hospital provides comprehensive services in surgery, critical care, and intensive care, alongside dedicated departments for Maternity, Paediatrics, General Medicine, Geriatrics, Cardiology, Respiratory Medicine, Haematology, Oncology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, and Infectious Diseases.
The hospital's mental health services include a 20-bed acute adult care ward, a 15-bed psychogeriatric ward, a 20-bed drug and alcohol rehabilitation ward, and a 6-bed Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC) unit, ensuring specialized support across a range of mental health needs.
Epic Pharmacy Northern Beaches is located in the hospital foyer and serves as the hub for our pharmacy operations. Our team of over 50 professionals, including pharmacists, interns, residents, and technicians, are dedicated to providing exceptional care. The pharmacy team is structured into operational (dispensary and oncology) and clinical services, ensuring comprehensive support across all hospital wards.
