This new role is graded as a Clinical Nurse Specialist grade 2 and will be responsible for providing supervision, direction and guidance to ensure safe practice, quality care and leadership.About usNepean Private Hospital is located in the multi-cultural Western Sydney City of Penrith and has established an excellent reputation in the community for its high commitment to customer service, staff satisfaction and quality improvement. The hospital is a modern 109 bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including: orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics. We have eight operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit which includes intensive care.It is an exciting time for Nepean Private Hospital. We have invested in our future with an exciting $38M redevelopment which has seen our Hospital grow to meet the needs of our growing community with 4 new operating theatres, purpose-built pre-admission area, new sterilising department, new foyer and retail space, new consulting suites, refurbished main entry and a new car park. And we have just purchased a new $3.5Million Da Vinci Robot to expand our complex surgery program!As a Recovery Team Leader (Clinical Nurse Specialist 2) your responsibilities will include:Support the nursing team with planning, assessment, implementation and evaluation of excellent standard of evidence-based, person-centred care.Collaborate with the perioperative management team to provide strategic leadership, supervision and oversight as required.Demonstrate professional practice as evidenced by adhering to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics and conduct, legislative requirements and Healthscope's policies and processes.Foster a learning environment through clinical presentations to support the nursing team with their professional development and maintaining own professional learning and continuous professional development, providing supervision and teaching to peers, ENs, graduates and students.Act as a valued member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care by actively contributing to team processes and practices.Collaborate with external partners to ensure patients receive a high quality of care across the health care continuum.Maintain professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high quality patient outcomes.Minimum Requirements:Current AHPRA registration.Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Recovery RN.Prior experience as a CNS, acting NUM or in charge in PACU will be highly regarded.Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards).Compliance with ACQSHC National standards.Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and work within a team environment.Passion for teaching, educating and up-skilling staff in cardiac operating theatres.Why Healthscope?When you join Healthscope, you become part of our Community of Care.
