The role: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to lead impactful case management for complex clients in both community health and inpatient settings.
As part of an expert group that includes Registered Nurses, Clinical Nurse Consultants, Allied Health Specialists, and Transitional Nurse Practitioners, you will provide individualised, case-managed care aimed at maximising health outcomes within a multidisciplinary framework.

In this role, you will utilise advanced clinical skills to assess, plan, organise, evaluate, and deliver high-quality nursing care tailored to each patient's needs.
You will collaborate with HNE Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services to support primary treating teams for patients with substance use issues, while also providing a Drug and Alcohol Consultation Liaison service to emergency departments, inpatient wards, and outpatient clinics.
Your contributions will help shape specialty clinical practices and service delivery, and you will have the opportunity to deliver in-service training to enhance clinical staff's understanding and competence in managing substance dependence.

The service: Drug and Alcohol Clinical Services (DACS) aims to improve health and reduce harm for individuals, their families and carers and the wider community.
DACS is a specialist treatment service for people with substance use problems.
Harm Minimisation is a key tenet of the model of care.
It is a multidisciplinary service that includes nursing, medical and allied health clinicians alongside peer support and Aboriginal health workers.
DACS operates in a range of community, outpatient and inpatient settings, providing prevention, early intervention drug and alcohol assessment and treatment counselling and case management throughout Hunter New England Health.

Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme: This vacancy is eligible for an Attraction and Relocation package that includes the following: Attraction incentive paid as a Rural and Regional fortnightly allowance of up to $10,000 for the first 12-months.
Retention incentive of up to $5,000 thereafter annually.
Requirements: Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
Post-registration qualifications relevant to the area of specialty with at least 3 years post-registration experience within the clinical area of specialty.
Eligible to drive in NSW and willing to travel for work purposes.
