(pro rata) + superannuation and salary packagingPart-time working 22.8 hours per week and temporary from 6/1/25 up to 30/1/26About the Role Join our dedicated team as a Clinical Nurse/Refugee Health Nurse (CN/RHN) Child Health within the CALHN Intermediate Care Refugee Health Service (RHS). In this vital role, you will provide expert clinical intervention and compassionate nursing support to vulnerable groups, focusing on child and adolescent clients from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds. You'll be responsible for triage, health assessments, immunisations, and developmental screenings for children under five, ensuring that each child receives the comprehensive care they deserve. Working within a clinic setting, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver culturally appropriate interventions that address the complex health needs of our clients, helping them navigate their healthcare journeys.
As a CN/RHN, your contributions will extend beyond individual care; you'll play a crucial part in fostering integrated service responses by collaborating with both Government and Non-Government organisations. Your expertise will support hospital avoidance strategies and enhance health outcomes for those with acute and sub-acute needs. Additionally, you will be actively involved in quality improvement activities and promoting worker health and safety, ensuring that our services meet accreditation standards.
About You We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Nurse/Refugee Health Nurse who is passionate about making a difference in vulnerable communities. The ideal candidate will possess the following key qualifications and skills:
Registered Nurse: Eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with a current practising certificate and pursuing qualifications in vaccination and immunisation programs.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, along with strong IT skills for effective collaboration in a multidisciplinary team.Adaptability and Initiative: Demonstrated ability to thrive in changing environments, manage complex workloads, and develop innovative solutions while maintaining high standards of care.Cultural Competence: Experience working with culturally diverse clients, especially those from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds, with a focus on trauma-informed care.About CALHN The Central Adelaide Local Health Network includes South Australia's major quaternary facility, the Royal Adelaide Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, and the Repat Health Precinct.
