About the role
Mater Private Bundaberg is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our Perioperative team on a permanent full-time basis. This role is working across Day Surgery and the Pre Admission Units. This is a unique opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills. Our Perioperative Unit includes 4 Operating Theatres, CSSD, Pre Admission and Day Surgery Unit. Our 59 bed facility combines state-of-the-art technology with specialist clinical and nursing staff, delivering personalised healthcare that meets the highest standards. What you'll be doing
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, your duties will include (but not limited to): Provide direct high quality patient care applying clinical nursing skills and contemporary knowledge to support optimal care outcomes through care coordination, evaluation, collaboration and communication within scope of professional competence.Collaborate with patients and their caregivers to identify anticipated health outcomes and patient needs.Adhere to the documentation standards in accordance with Mater frameworks, policies, procedures and forms.Coordinate work functions.Apply advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of patients with complex care needs that promote optimal patient outcomes.Undertake comprehensive discharge planning to ensure patients and their support persons, where applicable and appropriate, are provided with adequate support through the provision of education, resources and appropriate community services access.Act as a preceptor and mentor for colleagues and nursing students within the team when required.About you
As the successful applicant, you will possess the following: Current registration with the Australian Health Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Division 1 Registered Nurse.Any other qualifications applicable to healthcare team specialty.Postgraduate tertiary qualifications applicable to healthcare team specialty (desired).Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Registered Nurse in the applicable healthcare team specialty.Why join us?
