About the role The Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton is seeking applications from motivated and experienced Clinical Nurses (Level 2) to work within our PACU unit within the Operating room complex in permanent, full-time or part time. Shifts are predominately Monday to Friday, but some weekend shifts may be required.
On-call responsibilities are also a feature of this role.
Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton's perioperative services comprise five operating complexes, seven recovery bays and a central sterilising Unit.
The Theatre Complex provides pre- and post-operative recovery room care and specialised endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures.
The surgical case mix includes orthopaedic, obstetric, gynaecologic, ENT, oral, urology, paediatric, general, bariatric, vascular, spinal and ophthalmic surgery.
Salary range: $54.21 - $58.08 (RN2) per hour plus superannuation and access to generous salary packaging of up to $15,900 What you'll be doing As a Clinical Nurse you will provide advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of clients with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met.
The CN provides clinical leadership for professional and clinical practice, education and research.
The role supports management activities, including portfolio responsibilities where applicable.
Whilst displaying the highest level of clinical standards for the unit you will be responsible for:
Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of careDemonstrating advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding careSupporting the Nurse Unit Manager in implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision, along with staffing within budget requirementsMaintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growthAbout you You will enjoy working in a busy and rewarding environment where you can become part of a team of professionals who take pride in providing the highest levels of patient care.
To be successful in this position, you will possess:
Currently AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)Demonstrated nursing experience within a perioperative setting or have transferable skills that can be developed with professional trainingExcellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skillsDemonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamDemonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principlesBe an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or have a perioperative ANMAC occupation code for sponsorship purposesMater is Queensland's largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals.
