About the role Gatton Health Service is a 10 bed sub-acute care facility providing a comprehensive range of inpatient and ambulatory care services accepting both private and public patients.
It is situated approximately thirty minutes from Toowoomba and forty-five minutes from Ipswich.
Gatton Health Service provides varied services including inpatient care to medical, sub-acute post-surgical, palliative, rehabilitation, and minor paediatric cases.
The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse who is accountable for practice at an advanced level, working collaboratively within the unit and with other members of the health care team including consumers/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies (including non-Government agencies).
This role provides the delivery of clinical care and support specific to Gatton Health Service within a clinical setting.
The Clinical Nurse provides contemporary clinical leadership and care within a specific area supporting the general function of the unit through the application of best practice principles, education, leadership and portfolio management in the application and role modelling of professional nursing practice standards in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA).

Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in the area of rural and remote delivering expert nursing care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members.Demonstrated ability to role model excellent standards of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care and documentation to facilitate quality patient outcomes, in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service and professional standards.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors and maintain a positive workplace culture through well developed consultation, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.Demonstrates a strong team commitment through ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level.Demonstrated ability to coordinate staff and manage delegated resources including prioritising needs and supporting day-to-day changes.Pro-actively manages own continuous learning and development.Mandatory Requirements: Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.
