Location:The Mental Health Act Educator is responsible for the implementation and ongoing development of the learning and development framework resulting from the Mental Health Act Review Implementation Project and the ongoing training of the mental health workforce in Tasmania.
The Role:The Mental Health Act Educator will:
Undertake education and training activities to support the effective operation of the Mental Health Act across Tasmania.Plan, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of education and training development activities in collaboration with SMHS and prepare supporting materials for clinicians, consumers, and carers.Liaise with Tasmania Police and Ambulance Tasmania to identify training needs and deliver training on the application of the Mental Health Act.Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop, plan, implement, and evaluate education programs linked to the workforce needs of SMHS.Apply high-level professional and clinical expertise to enact education and development strategies for SMHS, Tasmania Police, and Ambulance Tasmania.The Team:The Office of the Chief Psychiatrist supports the Chief Psychiatrist in meeting statutory responsibilities under the Mental Health Act 2013. The team provides education, training, and guidance to ensure consistent statewide application of the Act.
Details of Appointment:Fixed term, full-time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 12 months. *Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary:$111,506 to $118,336 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
