#524933 Clinical Nurse Educator General Medicine Wards Calvary Mater Newcastle Permanent Part-Time Permanent Part-Time (20 hours per week). Salary Classification: Clinical Nurse Educator Grade 1 Year 1-2 Remuneration: $53.70- $55.45 per hour, excluding superannuation. About the role: The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for coordinating, delivering and evaluating clinical education programs within the general medicine units as well as contributing to whole hospital education initiatives. As a member of the nursing leadership team, the CNE will support the organisation, nurse unit managers and nursing staff to assess and maintain clinical competencies, provide evidence-based practice and optimise clinical outcomes.

Your main duties will include: Provide leadership in the ongoing review of clinical practice. Support the nursing team in planning appropriate care in consultation with patient and multidisciplinary team. Use evidence-based practice to develop education resources, provide training, supervision and assessment to all nurses. Coordinate, develop and implement clinical education, including individualised learning plans, teaching and assessment. About you: Registered Nurse authorised to practice by Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and with relevant post graduate qualifications. Demonstrated experience in clinical teaching and facilitation, with the skills and knowledge to complete competency assessment and feedback. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and the ability to design, develop and deliver education using various modalities and instructional methods. Strong professional communication skills, the ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships, effectively persuades others to adopt ideas, and the ability to apply these in a variety of contexts to a wide range of audiences. Knowledge and understanding of hospital accreditation, professional practice standards, legislation and policies and a demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice in nursing.
