The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse who is accountable for practice at an advanced level, working collaboratively within the unit and with other members of the health care team including clients/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies (including non-Government agencies). This role provides the delivery of clinical care and support specific to alcohol and other drugs within a community health setting.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following: Clinical Capability - Advanced clinical knowledge of, as well as, comprehensive assessment and counselling skills in, the alcohol, tobacco and other drugs field; including a working knowledge of the principles of primary health care and ability to deal with clients presenting with complex substance issues. Pro-actively manages own continuous learning and development.Patient Focus - Builds good rapport with patients and effectively prioritises and plans work time to deliver flexible and holistic patient care within designated time frames.Communication and Interpersonal skills - Sound interpersonal skills, including a high standard of written and oral communication skill; the demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships and to address & resolve conflict.Ability to prioritise clinical and related administrative duties, including effective and efficient planning and organisation of complex caseloads.Team focus - Builds and maintains strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others.Continuous Development - Demonstrates a strong understanding of the relevant standards and processes and actively identifies areas for improvement, planning and acting to resolve issues with an awareness of community needs.Work values - Demonstrates honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, carers and staff.West Moreton Health is one of the most rapidly evolving health services in the south east corner, with a community growth expected to almost double to more than 588,000 by 2036.
