Imagine Rural - Southern NSW Local Health District What you'll be doing The District Clinical Leader - MH Physical Healthcare and Clozapine Coordination is responsible for developing and promoting a sustainable, consistent, co-ordinated model for the physical health care, including Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), of mental health consumers throughout SNSWLHD. The role will develop and/or facilitate innovative strategies to improve the physical health outcomes and enhance the quality of life of people living with enduring mental illness. This position also has responsibility for overseeing and facilitating successful adherence to the ClopineCentral™ Protocol for all for all consumers registered with the Southern Local Health District Clopine Centre through expert clinical advice and leadership. Selection Criteria Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with at least 5 years full time equivalent postgraduate experience with tertiary nursing qualifications in the speciality with at least 3 year's fulltime equivalent recent experience in the speciality field or current enrolment in or commitment to enrol in an approved postgraduate course within the next 12 months. Demonstrated high level of knowledge and understanding of current state and national Health, Mental Health policies and strategic directions, particularly in relation to physical healthcare for mental health consumers. Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills including verbal and written forms and advanced skills in using electronic communication modes and Microsoft Office applications; together with an ability to negotiate and problem solve, and the capacity to influence health professionals. Demonstrated high level conceptual and analytical skills with demonstrated experience in planning, delivery and evaluation of professional development and service delivery initiatives and the capacity to apply knowledge and skills to develop innovative strategies to improve the physical health outcomes of mental health consumers. Proven clinical leadership capabilities with the ability to provide consultancy advice, education and support to individuals, their families, nursing staff and other health professionals and positively influence the skills and knowledge of health staff. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, present and evaluate education, clinical procedures and policies to multidisciplinary teams. Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays. Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases This is a Category 'A' position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015 All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
