Clinical Informatics Centre Data Scientist Fixed term part time position Work with a range of key stakeholders across RMH, the Parkville EMR team and Parkville precinct partnersBe part of dynamic and agile team helping deliver RMH strategic goal of becoming a leading digital health service.As a data scientist in the Clinical Informatics Centre, you specialise in not only analysing data but also in validating and developing machine learning models to extract valuable insights and predictions from complex datasets. This involves data pre-processing, feature engineering, model selection, and performance evaluation. One of your goals is to create robust models that can effectively address specific challenges in patient care, disease prediction, treatment optimisation, and healthcare management. Your work not only enhances patient care and outcomes but also drives innovation and facilitates evidence-based decision-making across the healthcare ecosystem.
Your new role: Develop knowledge of local data sets and existing clinical data modelsExecute analytical experiments to help solve problems across various domainsDesign and/or implement AI methods, summarize findings, and generate study results for research topicsCommunicate and present analytical results to researchers, clinicians and other stakeholders About you: A Ph.D. degree in Biomedical/Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Science, Computational Linguistics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field.Three years' experience working in a data analyst role or equivalent Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail and demonstrated ability to use data to inform process and strategyBenefit of working with the Royal Melbourne Hospital / NorthWestern Mental Health: Career progression opportunities to suit your professional development goals.Enjoy excellent work-life balance working in a supportive and collaborative teamSalary packaging, onsite car parking and, close to public transport.
