About the Role: This is a Fixed Term Part Time position to cover Parental Leave until 30 June 2025, 32 hours per fortnight within the Children's Bioethics Centre department.
You will be responsible for providing clinical ethics advice to clinicians at RCH and the institution generally at the discretion of the Executive. You will build capacity in ethics through its education and research program. You will work closely with the Academic and Clinical directors.
What You'll Achieve: Participate in clinical ethics case consultations, including contributing to discussion, taking notes, contributing to writing reports, and chairing/co-chairing as requiredParticipate in providing ethics support to RCH staff in a variety of ways, including ethics debriefs, ethics rounds, individual ethics consultsDeliver clinical ethics education to: RCH staff (medical nursing, allied health, administration) at departmental meetings and other educational activities on the RCH campus; and to professional networks and meetings at local and state levelProvide support for the Academic and Clinical Directors in the development of guidelines and policy advice about ethical issues relevant to the RCHContribute to research projects relevant to the work of the CBC, as required and in consultation with the Academic DirectorYour Skills and Experience: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and post-graduate bioethics and/or clinical ethics trainingPost-graduate qualification (or working towards one)Proven capacity for leadership in a team environment and ability to work well as a senior team memberWhat we Offer: Salary Packaging – Increase your take home pay!Discounted on-site car parkingOther Requirements: Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtainValid Working with Children CheckCompliance with RCH's "Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases" procedureApplication Process: To apply, you will need a resume and a tailored cover letter outlining your skills, experience, and suitability for the position in line with the requirements of the position description.
