Exciting Fixed Term Temporary Full-Time role located in Redcliffe Hospital.
You will collect pathology specimens from patients within or attending the Redcliffe Hospital and perform general lab duties in the Central Specimen Reception department.

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge of the importance of standard precautions in dealing with patients and biological specimens.Proven ability to follow instructions and work conscientiously and accurately with minimal supervision after careful instruction.Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to communicate effectively with clients, clinical staff, and colleagues.Positive focus upon patient care within a hospital health care environment.Demonstrate a high level of commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.Demonstrate data entry skills with the ability to work accurately and give attention to detail.Experience in or the ability to rapidly learn pre-analytical process in a large and complex specimen reception unit.Ability to efficiently prioritise workloads, show initiative, problem solve and work effectively without direct supervision.Understanding of and commitment to laboratory quality systems and the requirements of NATA accreditation and ISO certification.About Pathology QueenslandPathology Queensland (PQ) provides diagnostic pathology services to all Hospital and Health Services (HHS) across metro, regional and remote Queensland, offering laboratory services in the disciplines of anatomical pathology, chemical pathology, haematology, immunology, microbiology, and genomics.
