Your new role At Benevolent, safeguarding is our highest priority.
Client safety is at the core of everything we do.
This role will focus on ensuring our Safeguarding processes are effectively embedded into frontline operations, keeping safeguarding top of mind across all our services.
In this newly created role you will be responsible for assessing and enhancing our safeguarding framework.
This will involve reviewing policies and procedures, identifying gaps, and working closely with senior leadership to implement practical solutions across the organisation.
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our safeguarding practices align with our Code of Conduct and are fully integrated into our day-to-day operations.
You will achieve these outcomes through: Leading the execution of the safeguarding project plan, identifying and addressing any policy gaps or areas of improvement.
Reviewing and implementing safeguarding processes across the organisation, ensuring they are embedded in all operational practices.
Developing and refining safeguarding policies, ensuring they are clear, effective, and easy for staff to implement.
Monitoring and tracking progress to ensure policies are effectively integrated into frontline operations.
Acting as the subject matter expert on safeguarding policy and practice, providing guidance and support to teams across the organisation.
Embedding a safeguarding culture that prioritises the safety and well-being of clients at every touchpoint.
Essential criteria Relevant tertiary qualifications and senior experience in safeguarding and or operations in the child, youth & family, ageing, disability, child protection and/or legal environments Strong project and change management skills Skills in report writing, quality management, compliance, and risk management Experience and understanding of the safeguarding requirements and roles of regulators across multiple jurisdictions relating to Disability, Ageing, Child Youth & Family Services e.g.
Office of Children's Guardian NSW, Early Childhood Regulatory Authority QLD etc Strong communication abilities and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals Current WWCC (NSW or other relevant jurisdictions) Current Drivers Licence You will also be able to demonstrate knowledge / capacity in: identifying the potential risks to children, young people, families, and adults of abuse and harm in the workplace environment.
awareness of the unique safeguarding needs of vulnerable groups, including First Nations, CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse), people with disabilities, and individuals with lived experience of trauma.
using knowledge of child-safe and client-safe policies, procedures, and practices to evaluate the work environment for its role in promoting or preventing client harm and developing appropriate responses.
assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of risk management and safeguarding strategies, including the situational harm prevention model, and applying these to specific service environments fostering a safeguarding culture through protective and preventive procedures and practices within the organization Our Benefits   We support people to live their best life.
