Duties: Lead the development and maintenance of the Assembly's procedural and research publications, databases, and manuals. Provide research and report writing assistance to the Assembly and its committees. Special conditions: Must be prepared to work extended hours and late nights. Experience with contemporary information technology. Experience in conducting an inquiry. The appointment is made pursuant to the House of Assembly Enterprise Agreement. While the provisions of the Public Sector Act do not apply to this position, public sector conditions apply and entitlements are transferable.
Any person who has, or continues to be, active in political or electoral affairs or whose behaviour may result in the perception of a political alliance could compromise the strict political neutrality of this position and could not be considered for appointment. This includes staff appointed by a Minister or employed in an Electorate Office (excluding trainees).
The incumbent will be required to serve a three-month probationary period.
