Shape the future of renewable energy across APAC as the Legal Counsel for a global leader, looking at Australia's largest project pipeline
The Role
Join a global leader in renewable energy, driving the energy transition with the largest wind, solar and BESS projects across Australia. This dynamic Legal Counsel role offers the opportunity to provide critical legal and commercial advice and support on major wind energy projects, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the company's growth across the renewable energy sector while working with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities Draft and negotiate complex contracts, including supply, EPC, and O&M agreements for wind farm projects. Provide continuous legal support to Project Management, Operations, Services, and Procurement teams, including claim review and resolution. Assess contractual and commercial risks, preparing clear reports and recommendations for management approval. Advise on legislative and regulatory changes impacting renewable energy operations in APAC countries. Coordinate and manage relationships with external legal firms to resolve local legal matters effectively. Qualifications: Law degree, Masters preferred, with a minimum of 8 years' post-qualification experience. At least 4 years' experience in the energy, infrastructure or construction sector. Strong background in drafting and negotiating EPC, BoP, and O&M agreements. Proven ability to independently handle legal aspects of complex transactions from start to finish.
