About us
An exciting opportunity is available for a dynamic individual to join the Ministry of Health in a key strategic role to lead and deliver evidenced-based advice to the Ministry and Divisional Executive Team to shape NSW Health's National Health Reform forward program, including on areas of national significance or matters that require a whole-of-government focus.


We are seeking a dynamic individual with a proven track record in coordinating joint action between diverse agencies by managing multiple stakeholders and achieving effective agreement, in an environment of strong competition for finite resources.


This role will be located in St Leonards.


About this role
This is a full time, temporary (with opportunity for extension), Band 1, Public Service Senior Executive (PSSE) role leading the negotiation and early implementation planning for the next Addendum to the National Health Reform Agreement.


The right candidate brings skills and experience driving integrated, effective and successful policy development processes that respond to diverse and contentious issues and supports multiple programs and services across the NSW Health system and nationally.


You will identify, evaluate, critically analyse and manage emerging and highly complex and politically sensitive Commonwealth, State and other inter-governmental policy issues, as well as developments in international health systems, to deliver evidence-based decision making through detailed and reliable analysis to support strategic decision-making processes and to identify policy development opportunities to achieve maximum benefit to NSW.


An attractive remuneration package within the range of $217,997 to $242,100 per annum, with annual performance reviews, will be negotiated with the successful applicant.


About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
Demonstrated understanding of policy in the health (or similar industry) environment.
Demonstrated understanding of Commonwealth/State relations.
