Blueline Laundry is seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to join the Hobart team on a Casual basis.
About The Role
Reporting to the Industrial Operations Manager, the Cleaning Supervisor mentors a large and diverse team to provide day-to-day operations of the cleaning department, fostering a performance-based work environment for all staff, with a focus on efficiency, safety, and learning.
Working closely with others, your key accountabilities will be (but not limited to):
To perform duties associated with maintaining a clean work environment. To clean and maintain the physical appearance of workplace premises and offices to a high standard. Clean, stock, and supply designated facility areas including bathrooms (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting as required and instructed). To clean or assist team workers with the cleaning of equipment. The safe handling and appropriate storage of cleaning-related chemicals. Maintain and order chemicals, supplies, and equipment as required. Sanitising surfaces in line with COVID-19 protocols and treatment of other infectious diseases. Providing and maintaining a safe work environment for all people. Mentor new staff to ensure they are at a high standard to be able to work independently. Liaise with the Industrial Operations Manager regarding any concerns about new staff and following up on any performance matters. Provide supervision at external sites upon the request of the Industrial Operations Manager. Communicate to all cleaning staff using appropriate channels and encourage communication amongst workers. Assist the Industrial Operations Manager in ensuring compliance and high standards are followed by all cleaning employees. Ensure all cleaning staff are following safe working procedures, including the use of PPE. Assist the Industrial Operations Manager on rostering and workforce needs. Assist the Industrial Operations Manager as required. Selection Criteria
Relevant qualifications with demonstrated experience in a comparable position. Well-developed interpersonal skills including a proven ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds. Working with Vulnerable People Card (NDIS Worker Screening). Ability to work independently. Demonstrated ability, both individually and as a member of a team, to plan, organise, set priorities to complete tasks to meet deadlines and achieve established standards. Demonstrated high attention to detail, with strong data entry accuracy. The ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment. High level interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated high level initiative, judgement, discretion, and confidentiality. A clear understanding of all WHS obligations and industry standards. A Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card with NDIS Worker Clearance. Experience with SharePoint and the Office 365 suite of software. Knowledge of National Disability Insurance Scheme and the Supported Employment Environment. Benefits
