Exciting opportunity to join our Claims Settlements Team   Showcase your Insurance Claims experience in a growing organisation Full-time, Permanent role based at Mile End, WFH after probation Your new opportunity Due to continued growth, a fabulous new opportunity has become available for an experienced Claims Officer to perform the validation and negotiate the settlement of third-party insurer and credit/hire company claims.
This exciting role will involve you determining the validity of third-party claims made against our members.
As well as review claim outcomes to establish/challenge liability and determine appropriate settlement strategies to achieve best cost outcomes when settling third parties, to achieve a fair and equitable settlement.
You will also: Deliver exceptional and professional service to members and internal/external customers by identifying, responding to, and satisfying their needs Negotiate settlements for claims within appropriate authority limits and procedures Identify possible fraudulent matters and consult with Management on recommended actions to be taken in accordance with the Insurance Contracts Act and the company fraud policy.

However, to be successful in the role you will need to have: Motor or similar claims experience is preferred Outstanding attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong negotiation skills A positive can-do attitude and team ethos Knowledge of the General Insurance Code of Practice, The Australian Privacy Principles, Dispute resolution process and legislative requirements arising from the relevant acts.
Working knowledge of the Insurance Contracts Act and other relevant applicable Acts.
