Handle general claims inquiries from new and existing policy holders. Liaise with claimants/brokers in managing claims to resolution.Assess and calculate the appropriate quantum of a claim according to policy parameters.Balance, prioritise and execute time-sensitive tasks to a high degree of accuracy.Raise payments in system to ensure timely payment and settlement. Process claims including calculation of estimates and final payment amount, up to relevant claims authority.Send letters to claimants as required for pending requirements and other relevant information.Set estimate of claim i.e. PA up to relevant claims authority.Follow up and enter pending items data as required.Other general duties will include… Daily reception relief.Tend to Fax and email as required.Type all documentation as required.Assist claims officers and management staff with office related tasks as required. High School Certificate, suitable tertiary qualification and/or training in claims management or data entry… 1-2 years general work experience would be preferred.Sound knowledge of computer applications – Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.Ability to read/interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine report/correspondence, and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of Sportscover.Basic mathematical reasoning and ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Insurance industry Code of Practice course competency.Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.Excellent time management skills and high attention to detail.A strong desire to learn and pursue a career.Available for an immediate start.Note: This role is generally performed sitting, however there will be some occasional physical activity needed i.e. standing, walking, lifting (light loads).
