Civil Engineer (Site Engineer) – Home base: Shaw QLD Kogan People Solutions, recruiters across Australia, are working with a Queensland owned global leader developer of quality dependable infrastructure, connecting communities. Their activities are based in Townsville, with branches located in Rockhampton and Timor Leste.
Our client holds the Department of Transport and Main Roads Prequalification Levels R3, B2 and F25, AS/NZS 4801 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and maintains Federal Safety Accreditation.
They now seek a qualified experienced Civil Engineer (Site Engineer) to work on sites serviced from their Townsville and Rockhampton sites. The Site Engineer will work with the Project Manager in managing each project. Consistent with this role is the requirement to provide leadership to all subordinate team members, in all aspects of the business, including health, safety, environmental, quality and financial aspects.
Location – This full time ongoing role is based in Shaw QLD with regional travel as required.
Salary – Generous salary in the range $100k to $110k plus superannuation per annum will be negotiated.
Responsibilities of the role include: Interpret plans and estimate costs and quantities of materials needed.Maintain documents and records required by the Integrated Management System.Assist with the planning construction methods and procedures and coordinate the supply of labour and materials.Supervise construction sites and direct site managers and service providers to ensure standards relative to safety, the environment and quality are maintained.Promote and foster a consultative approach for resolution of site HSEQ issues.Be aware of contract documents and assist negotiations with the client or subcontractor(s) as necessary.Assist with the control preparation of cost estimates and the documentation for contract bids.Assist with the control payment to subcontractors by valuation of completed work.Consult with architects, engineers or other technical personnel to ensure design requirements are met.Interpret regulations / codes of practice to direct the progress of work in line with construction schedules.Calculate costs, revenue and estimate completion times to prepare progress claims, extensions of time and monthly reports.Formulate and maintain detailed programs for site works and the coordination of personnel.Record variations from design drawings or specifications for submission to the client.Negotiate with subcontractors and formulate reports to the client and others as necessary.Assist with organising / overseeing client, project or external authority meetings and discussions.Review resource requirements and financial forecasts to identify savings.Document and record all project works in accordance with company policy and procedure (quality assurance).Identify inefficiencies in resources, design or methods to reduce expenditure and increase earnings.Complete all tasks in compliance with RMS policy, procedure, client specification or statutory obligations.Other duties as directed.To be successfully considered for interview we expect to see:
A bachelor's degree in a highly relevant area of study.At least 2 to 3 years, preferably more, of professional experience gained in a similar infrastructure focused environment.Strong technical knowledge.Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure, within a team and independently.Unrestricted rights to work full time in Australia.Interested?
