We provide advice and representation to victims of Domestic Violence, including Family Law clients and to victims who are the subject of Child Protection Applications or Orders. Other work includes Victims of Crime Compensation Claims and assistance and support with housing applications.In 2023, NAAFLS applied for funding through the Paul Ramsay Foundation (PRF) to develop the Northern Territory Aboriginal Child Protection Notification and Referral Program (The Program).On 13 September 2023, the PRF granted NAAFLS funding over two years to develop the Program, subject to written in principle support from the Department of Territory Families, Housing and Communities (TFHC) to work with NAAFLS to develop the Program.The Program will enable the relevant service to receive early notification if a child will/has been removed from their family, leading to a reduction in the number of Aboriginal children coming into contact with the child protection system in the NT.NAAFLS is proud to be involved in such an important initiative. "The child protection and criminal justice systems need to do better for Aboriginal children and families in the Northern Territory. We also know the importance of front-end support for keeping families together. Our Program is the way forward for an effective child protection system in the NT." Rachel Hill, NAAFLS Senior Partnership and Advocacy OfficerKEY RESPONSIBILITES Oversee the development and implementation of the Child in Need of Protection (CINOP) Notification Scheme.Work collaboratively with the Project Officer, colleagues, external organisations and government agencies to research and advance development of the scheme.Implement a budget for the project based on requirements and track costs to deliver the project within the budget.Foster positive working relationships and partnerships within relevant communities and stakeholders to ensure broad community support of the developed education programs and approaches.Build a positive culture within the service which is aligned with NAAFLS' values and Strategic Plan.Participate in all staff and team meetings as required.Adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies as outlined in NAAFLS' Policies and Procedures.Promote and maintain safe work practices in accordance with NAAFLS WH&S Policies and Procedures.Undertake other duties as reasonably directed.DUTIESOversee the development and implementation of the Child in Need of Protection (CINOP) Notification Scheme.Develop a detailed work plan for the project in conjunction with the Project Officer.Proactively contact and arrange meetings with key stakeholders and government agencies relevant to development of the scheme.Work collaboratively with, colleagues, external organisations and key government agencies to research and advance development of the scheme.Implement and oversee the project budget and track costs to deliver the project within the budget.Build and maintain positive working relationships and partnerships within relevant communities and stakeholders.Adhere to NAAFLS policies and procedures.Build a positive culture within the service which is aligned with NAAFLS' values and Strategic Plan.Participate in all staff and team meetings as required.Undertake training/professional development in consultation with the CEO.Maintain safe work practices in accordance with NAAFLS WH&S Policies and Procedures.Undertake other duties as reasonably directed.SELECTION CRITERIAExperience and knowledge of the NT Child Protection system, the issues of Aboriginal children in care and the effect on the families and wider community.Proven leader with demonstrated ability to successfully manage and deliver programs on time and within budget.Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.A flexible approach, with strong organisational and planning skills, including the ability to effectively manage time and workload, prioritise tasks, and meet changing circumstances, competing demands, interruptions and deadlines.Demonstrate an understanding of confidentiality, mandatory reporting and the issues relating to family violence.High level attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work with an electronic records management system and enter accurate and timely data and use a range of computer programs.Self-motivated and demonstrated ability of working independently with minimal supervision, and as an effective team member, promoting cooperation and commitment to achieve goals.Must obtain a Working With Children Clearance (WWCC) and a clear Criminal History Check.Possess a current 'C' Class NT Drivers Licence.Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.Send your application Job Application First Name * Last Name * Email * Phone * Summary * Maximum upload size: 1MB Resume * Maximum upload size: 1MB If you are human, leave this field blank. #J-18808-Ljbffr
