Meandu Mine BUMA Australia provides a total mine service to Stanwell Corporation's Meandu Mine to deliver coal to the adjacent Tarong power station.
We are responsible for both managing and operating the mine.
Services provided include planning, drilling, overburden removal, coal mining, coal processing, rehabilitation, and maintenance of mobile and fixed plant.
The project uses a combination of dragline and truck-and shovel operations.
Meandu Mine currently has five working pits, with sufficient coal to fuel the stations until at least 2037.
We are currently seeking an Operator/Maintainer for the Coal Handling Prep Plant (CHPP) to join the team at our Meandu Mine site located 25 kilometres south-east of Kingaroy.
Please note that Meandu is a residential mine with no accommodation provided, therefore only those local to the area will be successful in their application.
About the Role: Reporting to the CHPP Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation & maintenance of the fixed plant asset.
This will be complemented by your ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic team, by utilising resources to optimise equipment availability along with a commitment to maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping and compliance as part of your everyday tasks.
Key responsibilities: Comply with company standards, rules & procedures Undertake specific projects as defined by CHPP Operations / Maintenance Supervisors and any duties that your skills and competencies allow and as determined by the CHPP Superintendent / Manager Safely operate CHPP equipment Conduct coal stockpile dozer and front-end loader operations Be competent in use of diagnostic tools and ensure repairs and servicing is carried out in accordance with manufacturer's specifications Be able to work with minimum supervision About You: The successful candidate will possess a combination of the following: Experience in CHPP Operations and/or Maintenance roles Mechanical Trade Certificate A team player attitude Current Standard 11 (advantageous) High risk EWP, Forklift, Front End Loader, Excavator and Bobcat would be highly regarded Current Drivers Licence Current confined space & working at heights Working at BUMA: BUMA Australia is a people focused business, with a strong focus on safety, training, development and continuous improvement.
