Wellbeing and Primary Mental Health - Loddon Children's Wellbeing Local (LCHWL) 32 hours / fortnight Permanent Part Time The Loddon Children's Health and Wellbeing Local (LCHWL) provides a range of health and wellbeing services to children up to 11 years of age who may be experiencing some challenges including, developmental, emotional, relational or behavioural concerns. Services are available to families across the shires of Campaspe, Central Goldfields, Loddon, Macedon Ranges, Mt Alexander and Greater Bendigo. The LCHWL is aninnovative model of care that is co-designed with paediatric service providers and people with lived experience, to provide a system response that improves access to primary and tertiary care across the Loddon region. Services provided through the LCHWL include paediatric health, mental health support, parenting support, specialist assessments, allied health, family services and care coordination. The LCHWL has recently been established in response to the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System. We are currently seeking application for the recently created role of - Children's Therapeutic Specialist. This position is a vital role aimed at providing support and therapeutic services to children aged 0 to 11 years and their families. The position operates within the Echuca Regional Health (ERH) catchment and is part of a larger care system called the Loddon Children's Wellbeing Local (LCHWL).
Key responsibilities of this role include: Providing accessible and coordinated services: The specialist will work closely with children and their families to provide accessible therapeutic services that address the children's emotional, psychological, and developmental needs.Integrated care approach: The specialist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team within the LCHWL, collaborating with other professionals and organizations to offer comprehensive and integrated care.Family-focused care: The role involves engaging with families to ensure they are supported in meeting their child's needs and to promote healthy family dynamics.Early intervention and prevention: The specialist will play a role in identifying and addressing potential issues early on, offering preventive measures and early intervention strategies to promote the wellbeing of children and their families.Community outreach and advocacy: The position may involve engaging with the community to promote awareness and understanding of children's therapeutic needs and advocating for resources and support.Our team requires someone who has: Proven experience working in similar setting (including at least 2 years in a paediatric specific role)Relevant tertiary qualifications in a mental health disciplineExcellent time management and organization skillsDemonstrated problem solving and decision-making skillHigh level interpersonal skillsWorking for ERH  At ERH we offer a supportive and inclusive culture that offers opportunity for growth and development.
