Christ Church Morningside is a thriving church in a busy part of Edinburgh, located on Holy Corner inBruntsfield/Morningside. Our worship is rooted in the liberal catholic tradition of the Scottish EpiscopalChurch with a robed choir, vestments and modern language liturgy for the Sunday Sung Eucharist, with monthlyChoral Evensong, daily Eucharists during the week, and various other regular and special services throughout theyear. In 2023 the average Sunday attendance was 120. Current activities for children include Young Church andcreche during the Sunday Sung Eucharist, a Children's Choir launched in 2024, midweek playgroup, activities andservices at Advent/Christmas and Holy Week/Easter, summer holiday club, and various social events for childrenof all ages throughout the year. Children take part in leading worship, particularly at Young Church Eucharistsand seasonal services. The Vestry are committed to growing and developing ministry with children and youngpeople.
Christ Church Morningside is seeking to appoint a new Children and Young Church coordinator to work with the Rector,Associate Rector, Vestry, staff and volunteers to coordinate and develop the programme for children and youngpeople (ages 0-15) at Christ Church.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
To recruit, train, supervise and facilitate a team of volunteers to deliver the activities, events and ministryinvolving children and young people.To be responsible for all relevant rotas and schedules forvolunteers to ensure sufficient staffing and resources for all activities and events involving children andyoung people.To prioritise the safeguarding of children and young people, and work with the Rector andPVG Co-ordinator (and any other relevant staff and volunteers) to ensure that all necessary legal and SECrequirements in relation to working with children are satisfied.To be responsible for all relevanthealth & safety compliance and risk assessments for events and activities involving children (including theChildren's Choir).To manage the budgets for activities and events for children and young people andliaise with the Treasurer and Church Manager, reporting to Finance and Management Committee.To be theprincipal point of contact for families with children, to provide a welcome to new and visiting families, and toprovide regular information and communications about activities and eventsTo attend monthly meetingswith the Rector and report to Vestry and subcommittees as required.Undertake training and attenddiocesan and ecumenical events/meetings as agreed with the Rector.Reporting to the Rector, the successful candidate will have experience of working with children and youngpeople.

Job Summary The role of Programme Lead (Training and Reconciliation) is a key new position in supporting Place for Hope'sstrategic goal of growing our partnerships with faith communities to support and equip more people to reachtheir potential as peacemakers.
The Programme Lead will co-ordinate all work related to our new 5-year partnership with the United Reformed Church(URC). The partnership will involve two key areas (i) the development and staged roll-out of a mediation teamwithin the URC who will work ecumenically with the wider Place for Hope Practitioner team; and (ii) embeddingthe understanding, skills, and confidence in how to deal well with conflict, change and difference through a setprogramme of trainings.
The Programme Lead will draw on the entire Place for Hope team (staff and volunteers) to develop and deliver anagreed 5-year programme plan. The role will also involve supporting the wider work of Place for Hope,particularly working with our training team to deliver our training programme (online and in-person) with a widerange of partners.
Previous experience of project management, training, as well as excellent organisational and communication skills areessential to the role. The ideal candidate would also have an interest in supporting faith communities totransform conflict and a willingness to undertake CPD provided by Place for Hope to build their knowledge andskills in this area. This is an exciting time to join Place for Hope and play a pivotal role in equippingindividuals and faith communities to choose peace in times of fear and division.
