Conditions of Employment Salary: $69,117 to $104,493 pro rata per annum + 11% Superannuation

About the Advice and Referral Line (ARL) The team at the Strong Families Safe Kids Advice and Referral Line are a passionate group of emotionally intelligent, multidisciplined professionals who collaborate and work together to provide short-term and early intervention advice or referral to families and young people. This is a predominantly phone-based role in a fast-paced, high-energy, team environment.
Child Safety and Wellbeing Worker (523996) Conduct safety and wellbeing phone conversations to identify the most appropriate response regarding the best interests of the child. Provide brief intervention strategies, information, and advice in relation to service options and other approaches to support the child and their family. Use risk and safety assessment frameworks and skills to determine when a child may be at risk and initiate an appropriate protective response. About Child Safety Service Child Safety Service work with children, young people and their families to ensure children are safe from abuse and neglect. For children in out of home care, we work collaboratively to meet their individual needs.
Child Safety Officer (501529) Provide quality, timely and effective intervention, and case management services within a defined child safety service delivery framework using a care team approach, working within the Tasmanian Child Protection Professional Practice Standards. Engage and work with children and young persons and their families to promote safety, stability, and development of the child, and to strengthen family capacity. This includes directly guiding, encouraging, and supporting the child and family while monitoring impacts and outcomes. Respond to and investigate reports concerning children at risk of harm and undertake assessments of the child and their circumstances utilising standard assessment and intervention procedures. Essential requirements for both roles A Bachelor of Social Work or a Diploma of Community Welfare Work or other tertiary qualifications at Diploma or above level which includes units of case management/casework practice and supervised practical work placements in relevant fields.
