The Role We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Child Safe Investigator to oversee Child Safe investigations involving children and young people. This role entails conducting thorough, child-inclusive, and trauma-informed inquiries into incidents of risk, abuse, or misconduct. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the safety of children in various care settings while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Additionally, you will prepare clear investigation reports and provide regular updates to the Executive and Board's Quality and Safety Committee on incident trends and areas for improvement. You will work closely with our Care Services and Child and Family Services teams to engage them in trauma-informed practice and responses to children, young people, and carers, to build a safe and connective approach for children to heal and thrive.
Your Experience Tertiary qualifications in social work, youth work, or a related discipline, with experience in child-inclusive and trauma-informed practices.A strong understanding of Child Safe standards and child protection systems, with experience in the child and family services sector.Proven skills in interviewing children and families in sensitive situations, using trauma-informed practice which creates a safe environment for children and young people.Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage confidential information effectively.Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to build rapport with diverse internal and external stakeholders.Embark on a fulfilling career journey with UMFC!
