Through risk management leadership, this role will drive a proactive and positive risk culture in relation to operational and enterprise risk at all levels of the University which supports the implementation of the University's Strategic Plan, 2022-2028: Start well, finish brilliantly.For the right candidate this role delivers:An outstanding opportunity for an experienced risk and compliance professionalA senior leadership role with competitive remuneration and a fixed term up to 5 yearsAn opportunity to work on enterprise-wide strategic programs of work that are driving the transformation of VU and its future sustainability.The OpportunityThe Chief Risk Officer will provide strategic leadership and foster enterprise-wide teamwork in the design and delivery of risk and compliance strategy and associated frameworks that meet the needs of the executive leadership, Council and its committees, and broader university academic and corporate entities. They will be seen as a subject matter expert and will provide expert counsel to the University on risk management oversight, compliance framework development and management, and risk governance and culture.To be successful, the Chief Risk Officer will need to build strong business partnerships with key stakeholders and internal clients; undertake relevant planning and evaluation of the services offered; and ensure service innovation and excellence through the design and implementation of effective business processes to support the function's work.
