The Chief Radiographer oversees the operational and strategic direction of Breast Imaging in the Tasmanian Breast Care services, encompassing clinical practice and human, physical and financial resources related to the statewide provision of high-quality breast cancer screening, diagnostic breast imaging and assessment services in accordance with the BreastScreen Australia National Accreditation Standards (NAS) and other applicable standards.

The Role: Designing, implementing, and maintaining quality improvement and professional development programs for imaging staff at BreastScreen Tasmania and the Diagnostic Breast Imaging Service within the framework of the BreastScreen Australia and other relevant accreditation outcome standards.Provide expert clinical and professional leadership in the management of the Tasmanian Diagnostic Breast Imaging Service and BreastScreen Tasmania, ensuring the delivery of high-quality image services across multiple, geographically dispersed sites statewide.Provideexpert advice into the development and implementation of policies, procedures, workforce planning and training for both programs.Contributing to the broader operational and strategic direction of Population Screening and Cancer Prevention through the provision of evidence-based recommendations using emerging trends and contemporary developments to maximise the benefits of screening services for the Tasmanian community.Working as a member of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate and enhance the continuity and quality of screening and diagnostic service provision for clients and their representatives.Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.
The Team: BreastScreen Tasmania provides free screening mammography every two years with the provision of annual screening to people in high-risk categories. This service sees women, and eligible trans and gender diverse people aged 40 and over, with 50–74 being the priority age group. BreastScreen operates at three fixed locations in Hobart and Launceston and in 34regional and remote Tasmanian locations via two mobile screening units. The service conducts a Statewide multi-disciplinary clinical assessment service for clients for whom a mammographic abnormality has been found. As a result of free screening and assessment, the early detection of breast cancer has improved mortality and morbidity rates.
Diagnostic Breast Imaging is a new Tasmanian Health Pathway that provides public diagnostic imaging services to patients who have concerns about their breasts, breast disease or a breast cancer diagnosis. The service is being implemented in a staged approach and currently operates two clinics per month for public patients. This is a statewide service which is co-located with BreastScreen Tasmania in Hobart.

Details of appointment: Permanent full time , day worker position, working 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary:$145,301 - $147,192per annum.Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance withAllied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.A market allowance of $10,000 per annum pro rata is approved until 31 May 2026, this allowance will be reviewed prior to expiryBenefit available to eligible candidates : Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees.
