Company This global organisation is a leading manufacturer of portable mobile radio and wireless communications technology.
They have been operating for decades and have been the trusted brand for land mobile radio, two-way radio, and remote site connectivity technology across many environments throughout this time.
They have evolved to become a total integrator of wireless communications infrastructure and as such, they take on projects that involve the deployment and delivery of a range of wireless comms solutions, covering IoT, edge computing, telematics, as well as other hardware and software to ensure non-redundant communications across voice, data, and machine-to-machine technology for the most remote/rugged environments.
The markets they deliver these projects are largely within various levels of government (local, state, and federal), mining and resources, construction, public transport, and emergency services.
Position The position of Chief Operating Officer - Australia has now become available based out of the Melbourne head office.
This role will be directly responsible and accountable for the complete management and running of all operational functions carried out across Australia.
You will essentially serve as a functional general manager, overseeing and ensuring the efficiency and continuous improvement across the five office locations.
The business is largely a projects-driven company and therefore operational efficiencies are critical for the overall financial performance of the organisation.
As such, your effective management of the project delivery team will ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to client expectation.
Although holding the title of COO, and reporting to the global CEO who is based overseas, you will be the most senior figurehead in Australia.
The business is well established and entrenched in bringing new technology to market with a strategic plan to expand offerings and emerging technologies; therefore, you will be inheriting and growing further a thriving operational team.
Candidate To be considered for the position, the below experience is required:
Extensive years of experience in a senior operational management role from within the technology or communications industry.
COO level experience is preferred.
Extensive project management experience that has involved delivering complex communications-based technology.
Certificate in Prince2 or equivalent project management methodologies.
Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams.
Experience in driving innovation and managing technology integration projects.
Bachelor or Masters Degree in a technical discipline.
MBA or similar is preferable.
