The Position:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management and long-term planning of the company's farm operations. This role ensures that all farming activities are conducted efficiently, sustainably, and in alignment with the company's strategic objectives. The Chief Operating Officer leads a team of group managers and farm managers, driving operational excellence, productivity, and continuous improvement across all farms under the company's management.
Key responsibilities include operational management, team leadership and development, financial management, natural capital management and innovation, key stakeholder engagement and WHS, compliance and risk management.
The Person:
We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following skills, experience and key attributes:
Extensive experience in large scale aggregated farm operations management, with a strong understanding of dryland and irrigated cropping as well as livestock production Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a large and diverse team across a geographically spread environment Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost control, and detailed financial reporting Understanding of and interest in, regenerative and sustainable farming practices and emerging agricultural technologies Demonstrated practical understanding & commitment to legislative obligations including animal welfare, environment & work, health & safety Exceptional relationship management and high-level negotiations skills Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proactive and adaptable approach Results-driven with a strong focus on operational excellence Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate challenges and opportunities Effective communicator, with the ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders Bachelor's degree in agriculture, agribusiness or a related field A current Australian Drivers Licence and flexibility for regional travel This is a rare and outstanding opportunity for somebody who is passionate about regenerative agriculture and environmental stewardship to work closely with the CEO in managing Impact Ag Partners Farming operations in Australia.
