Government - Local (Government & Defence)Contract/TempPublic Sector People have partnered with a local council to recruit for a Chief Financial Officer, to cover a 3-6 month period.The role is responsible for:Developing financial reporting systems and preparing financial reports that meet best practice and satisfy legislative obligations. Assisting in the development of financial planning models relevant for asset management and effective decision making. Contributing to the ongoing development of financial information in line with changing internal and external requirements.Planning, implementing and managing all financial activities of Council including the evaluation of financial performance to improve financial and business processes and delivery of cost efficiency.Undertaking specific projects on behalf of the Director Corporate Services and the General Manager and reporting to the Director Corporate Services, Executive Leadership Team and Senior Leadership Team on the budget process, variance and correlation of the budget to Councils' strategic objectives.Supervision and general management of the functions of the Financial Services Branch.This is a 3-6 month contract to start ASAP.Direct reports - 4Indirect reports - 19Essential selection criteria:Local or State Government CFO experienceAbility to start ASAPTertiary qualifications in finance/accounting related areaAccredited Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) / Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA)Class C Drivers LicenceFor a confidential discussion, please send an updated resume to Caitlin Merrin at ****** with an appropriate time to call.The client is keen to move quickly, so if you are interested, then please apply now!
