As Griffith approaches its 50th anniversary in 2025, the University remains steadfast in being a leading university of influence and impact.About the opportunityReporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key advisor to the Vice-Chancellor and the COO and a member of the Corporate Services Executive Team. The CFO is responsible for ensuring the long-term financial viability of the University through revenue generation strategies and prudent management and control of the University financial resources.Providing strategic advice on a range of financial, accounting, taxation, procurement, capital and operating budgetary/resource allocation matters, the CFO provides leadership on business practices that promote continuous improvement and best practice. Working collaboratively with the senior leadership team, the CFO ensures that the full range of high-quality and effective financial and business services are provided to meet client expectations.About youAs the CFO, you will have a CA or CPA coupled with extensive executive leadership experience and demonstrated achievement in leading the finance and resource management function in a large and complex organisation. You will have highly developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills and a proven track record of leading high-performing and outcome-focused teams.Your ability to contribute effectively to the strategic direction of a large organisation and experience in managing planning and budgeting, investments, financial and management accounting, taxation, and systems development is essential. Your previous experience in overseeing digital transformation and contributing to capital development plans would be highly advantageous.
