Covering approximately 5,000 square kilometres in Latrobe City, Baw Baw, South Gippsland and Wellington Shires, Gippsland Water collaborates with Traditional Owners and local communities to ensure a sustainable, resilient and liveable future for the region.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for the financial strategic leadership of the organisation with a strong focus on sustainability, bill affordability, and driving operational efficiency. The CFO will bring a commercial lens as well as an appreciation for economic regulation. This role will provide significant leadership across the business to assist with developing business cases, strategic direction, and pricing objectives that will position Gippsland Water to meet a changing and challenging environment of regional structural economic change.
Additionally, the CFO will perform the role of Corporate Secretary, with unique and direct accountabilities to the Board. With a new finance system on the horizon, the CFO has a real opportunity to impact efficiency internally, as well as driving value.
To be successful in this role you will be a proven finance leader within a complex service delivery environment. As well as having CPA/CA qualifications and excellent technical expertise, you will have the demonstrated ability to generate strategic scenarios and creative solutions for varied financial challenges and effectively communicate advice. You can engage with the business to drive continuous improvement and influence, advocate and build strong diverse stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally with government and key partners.
