About the Unit
The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world and has taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica. Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara will also build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.
Responsibilities
Yara is seeking applications for their 14-month fixed-term role of Chief Financial Officer. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for Yara Pilbara's accounting and finance function including controlling, governance, insurance, treasury, and tax; and provides decision and strategic support to the broader organisation and its various stakeholders.
The primary responsibilities include:
Oversee and support the Finance team, including accounts payable, financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, tax, and office reception.
Oversee the accounting and financial processes, and reporting obligations to ensure compliance with internal governance and procedures, and external regulations and requirements.
Co-ordinate cost control activities including analysis and proposals to initiate improvement actions.
Evaluation and verification of investments and capital projects.
Co-ordinate the statutory audit and Board Audit Committee process.
Management of cashflow, funding, insurance, and treasury requirements.
Management of income tax compliance and tax planning, including more broadly for the Yara Australia consolidated tax group.
Preparation and presentation of board papers, budgets, business plans, financial forecasts, road maps, risk analysis, and assessments.
Lead and provide support and guidance to the finance team including performance management and development.
Provide decision and strategic support to the broader organisation including the Board of Directors and management team.
Provide financial support and training, performance measurement, and follow up to the management team and operations.
Act as point of contact to the central expert organisations within Yara and stakeholders within Joint Venture Partners.
Knowledge of SAP or equivalent Computerized Management System desirable but not mandatory.
Planning, Budgeting, and Cost Control processes.
Capable of leading a group of people.
Capable of maintaining Team Spirit and Harmony among the group.
Should have very good communication, planning, and organization skills.
Analytical approach to resolve problems.
Occasional travel to the plant site in Pilbara will be required (around 4 times per year).
Profile
• Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
• CA/CPA qualified
• Minimum of 10 years experience in a senior finance role
• Possess a high level of communication skills - verbal and written
• Experience in oil and gas, chemical processing or Mining and Manufacturing desirable
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
• Fluent verbal and written English is essential
• Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency. Temporary work visa holders are not eligible for this role.
