The Company Established in 1993, The Australian Wool Exchange Limited (AWEX) is a not-for-profit member services organisation whose members include brokers, processors, exporters, private treaty merchants, wool growers and industry associations. The AWEX Board represents each of the classes of membership and is responsible for strategic direction and policy setting in relation to the implementation of its functions. AWEX's strategic vision is to "Deliver services that strengthen, inform and increase confidence in the quality and integrity of Australian Wool". They are recognised globally for the provision of accurate independent market information services, developing industry-based standards and quality assurance programs, and maintaining the necessary rules framework which underpins the successful commercial trading of greasy wool in Australia. The Position Due to the pending retirement of AWEX's current CEO, the Board are seeking to appoint a new CEO who will have full accountability for the direction, planning and management of the strategic direction and operations of AWEX, including overall responsibility for staff, assets and resources. In addition, the position will provide high level advice and support to the board, to facilitate informed decision making and ensure that a consistent and measured approach is maintained in the development of strategic directions and goals for AWEX, its members and stakeholders. The Person To be successful in this high profile, highly rewarding position, you will possess the following key skills, attributes and experience: Proven track record of success at CEO or Senior Executive level within the agriculture sector, ideally with exposure to the domestic and international wool industry pipeline Highly motivated with proven success as a leader of small/ medium national organisation, governed by a board Knowledge and experience in the development, implementation and management of corporate and operational policy, programs and projects Exposure to digital platforms and change management in the context of industry advancement Strong leadership with the ability to manage high performing teams and develop and drive a strong culture of positive high performance Experience in governance and the development and implementation of high-quality business plans, budgets and strategies, matched with strong financial acumen Key strength in building and managing trusted relationships with diverse stakeholder groups across multiple geographies Demonstrated high level presentation and communications skills, both written and verbal Experience in building strong business relationships, driving collaboration with potential industry partners Mature in approach, Innovative, resilient, and motivated with a passion that aligns to AWEX's 10 established company principles Tertiary qualifications in a relevant professional field This is a very rare opportunity to lead one of Australian agriculture's respected member services organisations that inform and increase confidence in the quality and integrity of Australian Wool.If you have a passion for running an organisation, creating a positive culture, and delivering to industry then in the first instance, please phone Mick Hay on 1300 380701 or apply via www.rimfireresources.com.au
