An exciting lifestyle opportunity has arisen for a Chief Executive Officer to join this community-focused Council and lead a supportive Executive Leadership Team.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist Council to govern and manage its district at the local level and to act as a representative, informed and responsible decision-maker in the interests of its community.Fulfil the accountabilities and requirements of the role of Chief Executive Officer as defined by the Local Government Act, 1999 (SA), and other legislation.Be a progressive leader, promoting a positive culture of strong performance and continuous improvement.Manage the day-to-day operations and affairs of the Council to achieve optimum financial performance and utility of organisational assets and human resources to ensure that services provided to the community are of a standard of excellence.Support the Council to develop a well-planned district that meets the current and future needs of the community and promotes economic prosperity.Effectively engage with the community and other relevant stakeholders.Promote and foster a positive culture of risk management and work health & safety across the organisation.We are seeking a passionate, progressive and collaborative executive who is committed to delivering the Council's and community's vision.
You will be people-focused, an effective relationship builder, and your outstanding communication, negotiation and advocacy skills will enable you to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
You will bring strong emotional intelligence, political astuteness, sound business acumen, and an adaptable mindset.
Your confident 'hands-on' leadership will inspire an engaged workforce that is customer-focused and dedicated to continuously advancing service excellence.
To succeed, you will need to be an enthusiastic, outcome-focused, strategic thinker.
It is preferred that you have a sound understanding of the Local Government sector to provide sound governance and support to the Mayor and Council Members.
