Link-Up (NSW) Aboriginal Corporation was founded in 1980 to assist all Aboriginal people who had been directly affected by past government policies; being separated from their families and culture through forced removal, being fostered, adopted or raised in institutions. Aboriginal families and communities in New South Wales have been profoundly affected by removal and struggle to find it back home, home to family, country, community and culture … home to where they belong. Link-Up (NSW) supports the healing journeys of those removed, delivering professional, culturally sensitive and confidential research, reunions and Social, Emotional and Wellbeing services to those over the age of eighteen.The RoleThis is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified Position, classified under 'special measures' of section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.The CEO will lead Link-Up NSW from a corporate and cultural perspective and make sure the organisation achieves its people, financial, cultural, and growth goals while ensuring the welfare of clients, members and Link-Up employees. Reporting directly to an inspiring Board of Stolen Generations survivors and descendants, you'll make a key contribution to healing for the Stolen Generations while expanding on your leadership experience.The CEO will oversee and lead staff and be the key liaison to the Board of Directors. Experience working with a Board and having an understanding of corporate governance required for a CEO position is part of what we are looking for.The key objectives for the role will be to:Develop and lead a team of qualified people that demonstrate the Link-Up cultureReview the business structure for strategic effectiveness in the ongoing delivery of the programsDevelop and maintain key stakeholder relationships within the Link-Up community and sector and developing and implementing key programs that provide support to the member communityOversee all functions within the organisations and provide guidance and direction to staff and work closely with the Board including all governance related mattersEnsure and contribute to the operational and strategic decision-making process and provide advice to the Board of Directors in relation to operational matters and company performanceSupport the strategic vision, purpose and objectives, manage, support, and develop the team by working collaboratively and ensuring open communication to achieve program outcomesAbout YouUnderstanding the issues faced by Aboriginal families and communities in New South Wales that have been profoundly affected by removal and struggle to find their back home to family, country, community and culture is vital in this role. Ideally, you are an individual with experience managing diverse teams, experienced with corporate governance and a passion for the community.You will bring:A demonstrated understanding of the issues facing Aboriginal families in the delivery of quality services to meet the outcomes of Link-UpProven leadership capabilities with an ability develop a team and manage many different issues at onceTertiary qualifications in business, Community Services, Communication, Management, Finance and/or similar on the job experienceA strategic mindset, with experience developing and delivering a growth strategy and planDemonstrated experience in ensuring an effective management system, policy and procedure framework and financial system for an organisationAbility to work proactively and in partnership with a Board of Directors to achieve organisational objectivesHighly desirable:A track record of managing government contracts and capacity to manage all reporting and legal requirementsAn understanding of the NFP sector including mental health and community managed organisationsA track record in delivering funding initiatives through private and government fundersSalary up to $212,000 + Super + vehicle + Not-for-Profit salary packaging benefits is on offer for the successful applicant.Norwest Recruitment has been retained to assist Link-Up NSW with this Executive recruitment process.
