Cognizant is one of the world's leading professional services companies, transforming clients' business, operating and technology models for the digital era.The Chief Architect will lead the architectural strategy and direction for two critical domains—Customer Engagement (including Salesforce) and Billing & Payments (including mainframe assets).Key Responsibilities:Demonstrate understanding of the telecommunications industry and technology landscape, including familiarity with TM Forum initiatives such as Open Digital Architecture.Develop and execute strategies to transform legacy monolithic systems into a microservices architecture, leveraging collaboration and knowledge sharing across client teams and with experienced architects.Accelerate cloud migration initiatives, with an understanding of the complexities and best practices involved in moving to cloud-native architectures.Advocate for modern engineering practices, having a deep understanding of modern engineering principles, challenges, and ways of working.Experience in a product-led organisation, driving abstraction strategies that allow teams to build and deliver customer products independently, minimising dependency on engineering teams.Shift from traditional, gated governance models to an empowering, guardrail-based approach, promoting a culture of collaboration and autonomy within established architectural standards.Act as a visionary for the technology estate, ensuring alignment with long-term business and technological goals.Evaluate coherence and alignment across customer engagement and billing domains, ensuring both areas support the broader client objectives effectively and cohesively.Engage with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams, translating architectural principles into business outcomes.Requirements:Demonstrated industry expertise, preferably in telecommunications.5+ years of experience in technology transformation, cloud migration, or modern engineering practices.Prior experience in product organisations, driving abstraction strategies, and promoting a culture of collaboration and autonomy.Familiarity with TM Forum initiatives, cloud-native architectures, and modern engineering principles.Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000 per annum
