CHEMIST Location: Geelong, VIC 3215 Tenure: Full-time, Permanent Comprehensive salary package from $73,150 pa (plus superannuation) Required Qualification: • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or higher equivalent • At least 3 years recent relevant work experience Position Summary: On behalf of our client, Global Skilled Employment Services is looking for a skilled and experienced Chemist who have strong communication skills, self-motivated and must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Major duties includes: • Conduct qualitative and quantitative tests on raw milk and milk samples taken throughout the processes of pasteurisation, packaging and proposed shelf life.
• Conduct microbiological environmental and plant swab testing.
• Prepare and record information regarding Food Safety and Food Quality.
• Studies the chemical and physical properties of substances and develops and monitors chemical processes and production.
• conducting experiments and tests to identify the chemical composition and reactive properties of natural substances and processed materials • analysing and conducting research to develop theories, techniques and processes, and testing the reliability of outcomes under different conditions • developing practical applications of experimental and research findings • testing products • advising on preserving, processing, packaging, storing and delivering foods • developing quality control procedures and safety standards for the manufacture of food products • examining samples to assess and determining suitability for processing • Complete all results and reports sheets and verification sheets.
• Complete all quality and process control checks and record information in the appropriate form (paper report or computer record).
• Report all inconsistencies to Laboratory Manager.
