We have an exciting opportunity for a Chef Manager to join us at our Racecourse Grange Aged Care Community at Mornington.
This role will be appointed on a part-time contract on our Enterprise Agreement, working Monday to Friday across a 37.5 hour week. About Your New Role As our new Chef Manager, you will effectively manage the catering and kitchen function to ensure the highest quality food and service is prepared in accordance with dietary requirements for residents and within budgetary objectives.
What you will be doing: Catering Management: Deliver effective leadership and management of a team of Chefs, Cooks, and Food Service Assistants, including performance management, providing training and education, and ongoing coaching and support. Operations Management: Ensuring all rostering, recruitment, and compliance requirements are managed and delivered on. Effective Financial Management: Deliver effective and timely processing of invoices, management of stocktake, management of all financial and budgetary control, and assisting with the development of a fee-for-service model for residents. Training and Development: Manage and deliver effective skills and knowledge-based learning and development programs to direct reports, whilst providing feedback into the curriculum content of annual education plans. About You You will be an experienced Chef Manager or Head Chef, well-versed and experienced in managing a large-scale commercial hospitality services business.
You will be a strong commercial People Leader, who can coach and develop best performance across a range of varied direct reports. You will be able to engage your team effectively with a common goal of providing excellence in the delivery of nutritious and high-quality food for residents and customers.
You will possess the following attributes, qualities, and skills:
Qualified Chef with budgetary and financial management experience Experience in managing and leading hospitality and food services teams Café/Catering Business Management experience Experience with menu planning and design, with a focus on clients with specific nutrition needs Knowledge of NSW Food Safety accreditation procedures and standards A current Food Handling and Hygiene Certificate Fully vaccinated for Covid-19 and influenza (2023) About Your Offer At Australian Unity, you will have an exceptional opportunity to make a difference through the care and service that we provide to our clients, to make their lives better.
