CHEF MANAGER Permanent Full-time position based in Dubbo Great hours - Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm Excellent job security with an industry leading NFP About Kintyre Lodge Located in the vibrant regional city of Dubbo, BaptistCare Kintyre Lodge is a welcoming, homely aged care home, offering 81 single bedrooms.
The Lodge, which is located next toBaptistCare Kintyre Retirement Village , offers 24-hour care and support to residents, catering to all needs and requirements - including residential respite. The home also features a specialised Memory Care Wing for residents living withdementia or Alzheimer's disease.
Our lifestyle team at Kintyre Lodge run a fun andstimulating leisure activities program which includes bingo, exercise classes, craft,games, and outings,with the option for residents to participate as much or as little as they like.
All meals are cooked fresh onsite by our professional catering team, with a variety of nutritionally balancedmenu options available each day.
About the role Reporting to the Residential Manager, you will leadand manage staff and resources efficiently to deliver the highest quality and safety in food services.
Mealtimes are very important to residents, often a time they look forward to so continuous improvement in the meals we offer is vital. You will need to speak directly to our residents, gaining their feedback and making adjustments.
Your creativity with food and expertise in dining environments make this a unique opportunity to enrich the lives of our 90 residents.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Overseeing commercial cooking operations & staff supervision Rostering, ordering, invoicing & auditing Stock control, preparing menus, adhering to the budget Ensuring high quality presentation of all meals to residents Mid-High quantity cooking (90 clients) as required for leave cover About you The ideal candidate will have:
At least 5 years' Chef experience post completion of apprenticeship in a large catering or multi-outlet environment A Qualification in Commercial Cookery ,Certificate III of Proficiency, or other recognised certification such as armed forces qualifications. Demonstrated application of knowledge of HACCP, FSANZ and NSW Food Authority standards and principles. Sound competence and experience in the management of high quality food services, e.g. fine dining restaurant or similar Sound experience in kitchen management, effective staff leadership, staff development, financial control, and customer service Sound knowledge and experience in the preparation of menus in accordance with dietary requirements Demonstrated ability utilising effective oral and written communications skills.
