About us: Crown Indian Restaurant brings authentic, flavourful Indian cuisine to the heart of Wollongong, known for its rich spices, vibrant flavours, and exquisite culinary artistry.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Chef to join our talented team!
Salary Range: $70,000 to $80,000 per annum  Role: Full time Location: Wollongong NSW 2500 Main Duties: ·        Preparing and cooking meals, managing portions, and ensuring dishes meet quality and presentation standards.
·        Designing menus in collaboration with management based on customer preferences, seasonal ingredients, and the restaurant's theme, and ensuring compliance with dietary needs and food standards.
·        Calculating food and labour costs, ordering inventory, and overseeing stock to maintain kitchen efficiency and reduce wastage.
·        Managing food costs, monitoring portion sizes, and minimizing waste to stay within budget constraints.
·        Enforce food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with regulations ·        Supervising, training, and mentoring kitchen staff, ensuring high culinary standards ·        Working with management to synchronise kitchen operations with restaurant needs, especially during peak service times ·        Addressing customer feedback and complaints about food quality, ensuring customer satisfaction, and adjusting as necessary.
Skills & Qualifications: ·        Minimum Certificate IV or higher in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualifications.
·        Minimum 2 years of proven experience in Indian cuisine, with a strong understanding of spices, flavours, and traditional techniques ·        Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management procedures.
·        Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team of kitchen staff.
·        Effective communicator with staff and management, ensuring smooth kitchen operations ·        Excellent time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure Australian citizens/permanent residents preferred.
