Northern Beaches Hospital provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients. The hospital features 486 beds, a 50-bed Emergency Department, a 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, 14 state-of-the-art theatres including cardiac catheter labs, a world-class education centre, and excellent staff facilities including a café and car parking. As a Chef your responsibilities will include: Help create innovative, modern cuisine for our amazing patients and staff.In conjunction with the Head Chef, train kitchen staff on all menus.Meal and food preparation for patients as per national menu guide.Assist the Head Chef to manage food costs, stock control, and management of staff.Lead kitchen in the absence of Executive Chef/Sous Chef.Must be available to work rotational roster inclusive of weekend work.Maintain hygiene, OH&S, & overall kitchen cleanliness at all times, ensuring regular daily temperatures of refrigerators and freezers as per food safety standards.Strong understanding of HACCP Food Safety Program.Maintain effective communication with management and facility staff.Lead, supervise, coach and develop team members, including cooks, kitchenhands, and service staff, to deliver exceptional service.Pay Rates: Mon-Fri $33.80 per hour, Saturday inclusive of penalty $50.70 per hour, Sunday inclusive of penalty $59.15 per hour.
You will bring to the team: Appropriate chef qualifications.Proven understanding of the specific health, dietary and texture modification food preparation requirements required in a hospital catering environment.Experience in large volume cookery, cold larder, and hot production.Good working knowledge and understanding of HACCP regulations & Food Standards Australia & New Zealand.Food Handling Certificate.Available for shifts over a 7-day roster including weekend work.2 years relevant experience.Experience in healthcare or aged care facility (desired).Employee Benefits: Wellness benefits including a wide offering of holistic support through our Employee Assistance Program and free services including medical examination of employees and discounted Healthscope services for permanent Healthscope employees and members of their immediate family.

If you are successful you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant experience against the current Healthscope Health Professionals & Support Services Agreement 2022-2025.
