We are looking for a permanent and full-time Chef at our restaurant to deliver a consistent dining experience that ensures our customers are satisfied with their meal experience every time, so we can build a healthy repeat customer base.
Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000 depending upon the experience and role.
Location: 97 Smith Street, Summer Hill, NSW 2130 About the role: Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: Plan menu for events and function catering and calculate costing of new dishes.
Direct the activities of kitchen staff, to ensure fast and efficient service.
Prepare and cook meals with special requirements.
Monitor the quality of all meals and menu items going out to customers.
Liaise with manager/management to ensure a high standard of service at all times.
Source and order high-quality produce and ingredients as required.
Stay up to date with dining trends, new recipe ideas, ingredients, and dietary requirements.
Ensure all kitchen staff are appropriately trained in all aspects of meal preparation, presentation, food storage, and general hygiene.
Resolve any feedback or issues promptly and efficiently.
Assist with the hiring of new kitchen staff as required.
Ensure Exotic Indian Curries kitchen staff are appropriately trained in food safety standards and any other OHS requirements.
Qualifications/ Experience / Skills: Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery Previous experience of at least 3 years as a Chef in Indian cuisine Knowledge of Indian cuisine is a must Knowledge of Australian food culture is a must Knowledge of all food safety standards A good understanding of all financials running a kitchen Ability to deal with high volumes A love and passion for developing great nutritious food Creative eye for detail and a 'can do' attitude
