An exciting pre-opening opportunity exists for a Chef de Partie to join our team at Hyatt House South Melbourne. This role offers the unique chance to be part of launching the Hyatt House brand in Australia, with the hotel scheduled to open at the beginning of 2025. The Chef De Partie will be responsible for assisting the Duty Manager – Food & Beverage with the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel's kitchens, through the supervision of your team members and creating Melbourne best dishes and experiences. This is a great opportunity in a pre-opening team for someone who is willing to contribute in successfully setting up the People & Culture department and enthusiastic about learning/acquiring new skills.

QualificationsAssist with the training and development of junior chefsSet, clear and reset designated working area and sectionMaintain a positive relationship between both back of house and front of houseRunning shifts and ensuring basic kitchen standards are metFollow all prescribed hotel policies and food safety standardsMonitor and maintain the quality and quantity of all dishes to be servedYour background: To be successful in this role you will require the following attributes:
2+ years' experience working in a fast-paced high end restaurant or hotelCertificate IV Commercial Cookery or higherGreat organisational and leadership skills with the ability to train junior staff and run all sections of the kitchenAbility to work on a flexible 24/7 rosterWell-developed computer skills particularly in the use of MS OfficeEffective communication skills and a team playerHyatt House employees enjoy, but are not limited to:
