About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Teppanyaki Chef de Partie, with a passion for Japanese cuisine, to join our talented team of chefs in Arakawa Japanese Restaurant.
We celebrate the art of Japanese teppanyaki and bring modern creativity to the table.
Our guests enjoy fresh, authentic flavours and a lively, immersive atmosphere.
Arakawa is currently undergoing a major refurbishment and will reopen in December for dinner service, as a contemporary Japanese restaurant, blending tradition with innovation to create an extraordinary dining experience.

You will showcase your culinary talents and perform interactive cooking demonstrations directly at the grill.
We're looking for someone with precision, creativity, and showmanship who can prepare delicious dishes while entertaining and engaging guests.
Full availability and flexibility are required to work a 7 day rotating roster including evenings, weekends & public holidays.
Your key responsibilities for the role include:  Provide an entertaining and dynamic cooking experience through exceptional knife skills, flame cooking, and other teppanyaki techniques Foster a memorable dining atmosphere, interacting with guests in a friendly manner Perform kitchen operation duties, knife skills, mis en place, cooking techniques & duties  Produce dishes of a consistently high standard, presentation, taste and quality  Maintain equipment, utensils and a clean & hygienic kitchen  Rotate stock, ensuring minimal wastage  Work well in a team environment and follow directions from senior chefs  Follow WHS, policies and procedures  What you'll need to be successful ? ?  Certificate 3 in Cookery qualification Demonstrated experience as a Teppanyaki chef in a Japanese Restaurant Strong knowledge of traditional and contemporary Japanese ingredients, flavours, cookery & presentation techniques Advanced knife skills and ability to perform teppanyaki cooking tricks with professionalism and flair Ability to engage with guests, creating an interactive and enjoyable dining experience Thrive in a large, busy & fast paced work environment, with efficiency, organisation, time management and attention to detail  Strong communication skills, can follow direction and work well in a team environment  Committed and a passion for cooking with a strong focus on food quality and presentation  Excellent personal presentation  We are Offering ?
