Position: Chef/CookLocation: Sorrento Restaurant and Bar Airlie Beach, Northern QLDJob Type: Full timeSalary: $70,000-$80,000 per yearSorrento at Airlie Eats Pty Ltd is looking for Chefs on a full-time permanent basis for their busy restaurant.
We require chefs with a strong background in cooking Italian and Australian cuisine for a multi-cuisine restaurant in Far North QLD.Responsibilities:Prepare, season, and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements.Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring variety and quality.Examine foodstuff to ensure quality.Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.Portion food, plate dishes, add gravies, and garnish.Store food in temperature-controlled facilities.Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements.Estimate and prepare food for catering orders.Work as a team in a high-pressure environment.Follow preset recipes and adjust them per customer requirements.Train junior kitchen staff in basic handling of duties.Additional Duties:Menu planning.Create recipes and presentation specifications.Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.Oversee and manage kitchen operations.Clean and organize kitchen and equipment in adherence to hygiene and safety regulations.Record food temperatures and prepare reports for management.Minimum Requirements:Must have Australian work experience in a busy kitchen/restaurant.Fully conversant with health and safety regulations in Australia.Ability to work odd hours.5-6 years of experience as a Cook/Chef (preferred).Work Eligibility:No work eligibility is required; we are willing to sponsor the right candidate.How to Apply:Please sign in and update your profile to apply.
