About the opportunity At Mercy Health, each moment, no matter how small, truly matters - and as a Cook, you'll create cherished moments each day.
Prepare and cook meals in accordance with menu plans and dietary requirements for elderly residents.
Accommodate special dietary needs, such as low-sodium, gluten-free, diabetic, and soft or pureed diets.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Assist in menu planning in collaboration with the care team, including adjusting meals based on resident feedback and health needs.
Ensure proper portion control and food presentation, creating appealing meals for residents.
Handle food inventory and supplies, ensuring proper storage and rotation.
Monitor food safety standards, ensuring all food preparation, storage, and handling meets safety regulations.
Support the kitchen team in ensuring a smooth and efficient operation, assisting with other kitchen duties as needed.
What you'll bring You're reliable, resilient and have a whole lot of heart.

Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) Experience in an Aged Care or Healthcare Setting (preferred): While not always required, experience working in a similar setting is valuable, as it provides familiarity with dietary needs and safety protocols.
Experience in Preparing Special Diets : Knowledge of preparing texture-modified meals, diabetic diets, and other medically required dietary plans.
You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining: Valid police check Ready to help us shape the future of healthcare?
